This is the next enemy in the game, the Demon Friar. He's a demon of unknown species who leads the Temple of Serenity, an organization dedicated to the endeavor of harmony between Demons and Humans. As you can imagine from this battle pose, things aren't quite what they seem at the temple, and Lucas plans to uncover its secret.
