The January Requests! (and general update) (Pixiv Fanbox)

Hello!

I apologize for the lack of updates- a few general bits of overall news for this month to catch things up real quick:

Due to the fires in Los Angeles (particularly the Eaton Fire) I had to leave my place for about a week + prior travel plans had me out of town for the week after (which helped in giving more time for my place to get fresh-ish air again too- thankfully rain came in recently to fix things in general).

I'm grateful that my place wasn't actually affected, neither in fire damage or water being compromised, but the air quality was definitely terrible for a while. That being said, it had offset me by about 2 weeks.

Upon returning, I've mostly been trying to scramble to get everything together before the month's end before making the update, since making the update itself takes time as well.

This month's illustration is complete! I will be posting it in subsequent posts after this update.

That being said, I wanted to do more with it, so expect to see that update next.

Other news that could be seen as a bit less fortunate: I did not get accepted into Anime Expo artist alley this year. I actually am missing a lot of conventions this year in general- didn't make it into Sakura Con, Kawaii Con, or Fanime either (though those first 2, it was my first time trying to apply, so I'm not normally there anyway).

My next convention is Wonder Con in Anaheim as usual, though~ SDCC is still planned as well. There aren't make others this year.

However, this is also generally a good opportunity to make more progress on personal projects (like UMA!) so hopefully it will be a boon in disguise~

Anyway, with news out of the way- I wanted to compile the requests that came in. MY GOD, you all are too wonderful! I really did have something akin to paralysis of choice from looking at all of these suggestions!! It's inspiring and heart-warming haha. I might have to do general request months from time to time anyway~

I actually ended up sketching a handful of them, though when you see the wording of a lot of these, you'll see why I chose the one I did for the illustration (and hopefully can add to said image extra context next)

With all that said, and because I'm across 3 platforms- I wanted to compile the exact wording of each request here + their number of likes each to give you a sense of what I was looking at:

A LOT of these are really fun, and I did do sketches for a handful, which I'll make a Spectator post for later today. But in terms of the monthly illustration, I ultimately went with a D. Violet / Mrs. Victoria piece! You'll see it as Observer and Visionary posts after I finish posting this~
